- 1 Delorean Card

- 46 Paradox Cards
- 54 Flux Capacitor Cards
Set Up
Lay the nine road cards in time zone order, picture side up. Place the Delorean at the start. Shuffle the Paradox cards placing them as shown, with the first three face up. Deal each player 5 Flux Capacitor cards face down. Put the remaining Flux cards face down on the Flux Capacitor in the box. This is the draw pile. Place the unused Paradox cards to one side.
Now flip over the first 3 Paradoxes ONLY!
Paradoxes
Players need to work together to clear the Paradoxes by laying Flux Energy that fulfills each Paradox objective, clearing it from the time continuum. However, you are each playing from the future and cannot communicate with each other. You can only send signals stating which Paradox(es) you can help with. You cannot discuss any detail about the flux cards you have in hand.
Each Paradox has a unique problem that must be fixed. Once the requirements of the Paradox are met the Delorean is able to move to that space as long as the path to it is clear of Paradoxes. Flip the movie tile to reveal the road.
On Your Turn
- Lay one Flux card that matches the requirements of any face up Paradox in play.
- You must lay a card on your turn. You can play a card even if it does not help to fix a Paradox OR if you cannot go or choose not to go you can reveal the next Paradox in the line. However this causes another Paradox to appear in the future! Place a new Paradox card face down somewhere In the future below an existing Paradox.
- Pick up a new Flux Energy card from the draw pile.
- Play passes to the next player.
Some Paradoxes may go up and down before they are resolved, but try not to waste energy. When it's gone it's gone.
When all paradoxes from a time zone are clear you can then reveal all Paradoxes for the next time zone. If you can clear all the Paradoxes before running out of Energy you hit 88MPH and send the Delorean back to the future.
Advanced: Less Flux Energy
The printed sidebar on this page has no heading; the title above is added for navigation.
Think you've got this Paradox thing sorted? Then play with less Flux Energy to sort out the real time travellers! Shuffle the Flux cards and remove the following amount.
- Roads? Where we're going we don't need... roads! - Remove 2 Flux Cards.
- When this thing gets up to 88 mph, you're gonna see some serious s***. Remove 4 Cards.
- 1.21 GIGAWATTS!!!!!! - Remove 6 Cards.
Decoding Paradox Cards
Decode the paradox card and find out how to solve them. The trick is to only read the buttons that are lit.
The printed page shows card diagrams for each example (labelled A-I on the setup diagram and F-I here); the diagrams are not reproduced, only the example text.
Line 1
Line 1 will show a digital number and a symbol to tell you that YOUR number must be:
- = EQUAL TO IT
-
MORE THEN IT (sic; printed as "THEN")
- < LESS THAN IT
- ≥ EQUAL OR MORE
- ≤ EQUAL OR LESS
Example 1 - The sum of your cards must be Equal or Less than -3.
Line 2
Line 2 will show another digital number. This tells you the minimum amount of cards you must use. It also tells if the cards must be /2 EVEN /2 ODD + Positive or - Negative. The coloured buttons tell you what colours you must use. The coloured bar tells you if they must all be in different colours.
Example 2 - There should be at least 1 Red and 1 Blue card.
Line 1 + Line 2
Sometimes both lines show information for a harder Paradox.
Example 3 - The sum of all cards must = Equal 10 with all /2 EVEN cards.
Example 4 - The sum of all cards must be ≤ Equal or Smaller than -3. There must also be at least 1 Red and 1 Blue card.
