2 Special Factory Displays

When setting up a game of AZUL, return two of the usual Factory displays to the box and use the two new Special Factory displays in their place.

The game is played as usual. However, when picking tiles from a Special Factory display during the Factory offer phase, bear the following rules in mind:

This Special Factory display has a wall surrounding it. When you pick all tiles of one color from it, the remaining tiles are not moved to the center of the table but remain on it.

When you pick all tiles of one color from this Special Factory display, the remaining tiles are not moved to the center of the table. Instead, move them to the Factory displays to the immediate left and/or right, dividing the tiles between those 2 displays as you like. The only restriction is that tiles of one color may not be split up.

Note: If the Special Factory display with the wall is directly adjacent to this one, tiles can be moved there, too.

5 Double Score Markers

When setting up a game of AZUL, place the 5 double score markers next to the Factory displays as a supply.

The game is played as usual. However, in this promo, carry out the Wall-tiling phase in player order, rather than simultaneously, starting with the first player and going clockwise.

Now, once a game, when you move one of your tiles from a pattern line over to your wall, you may double the points scored by the placement of that tile if:

  • the double score marker of that tile's color is still available in the supply next to the Factory displays AND
  • you have not already used a double score marker (because each player can only do this once a game).

Then take the matching double score marker from the supply and place it in front of you to indicate that you have used it.

The sheet's illustrations show the two Special Factory displays and the five double score markers, each marked "x2".
