What's Included
- 39 drop cards
- 12 scoring cards (3 of each color)
- 1 start card
Before You Begin
- Each player takes the 3 scoring cards in their color and places them face up in a score pile in front of them. Make sure the side showing the numbers 1 (top), 2 (middle), and 3 (bottom) is facing up. Return any unused scoring cards to the box.
- Shuffle the drop cards well and place them face down in the center of the table as a draw pile. Each player draws 2 drop cards and takes them into their hand. Make sure no one else can see your cards.
- The player who most recently drank a glass of water receives the start card and begins.
Let's Get Started
You play in turns clockwise and over several rounds.
In each round, try to collect as close as possible to 11 drops. To do this, add up the drops shown on all your cards. Important: If you collect more than 11 drops, you lose them all and end up with nothing!
The player with the start card begins.
On Your Turn, You Have Two Options
A. "DROP!" Draw a drop card from the pile and place it face up in front of you. If the pile is empty, shuffle all discarded cards to form a new pile.
or
B. "STOP!" Do not draw a drop card and pass. You are out for the rest of the round.
Then the next player takes their turn. Players who have passed are skipped for the remainder of the round. When all players have passed, the round ends.
Round Scoring
Now place the 2 drop cards from your hand face up with the drop cards already in front of you.
Add up all the drops on your cards and compare your totals.
- Who collected the most drops without going over 11? You win the round. Turn over your top scoring card and place it next to your score pile.
- Did someone collect more than 11 drops? Your container overflowed! Unfortunately, you get nothing this round and may not turn over a scoring card.
NOTE: These drop cards can be counted as either 1 or 5.
NOTE: Did several players collect the same highest number of drops (without going over 11)? All tied players win the round and each turns over one scoring card.
Afterward, place all drop cards from this round on a face-up discard pile.
Each player then draws 2 new drop cards and takes them into their hand.
Pass the start card one player to the left, and the next round begins.
EXAMPLE:
ARNIE and BARNEY each have 10 drops on their drop cards.
SZZKEAT went slightly over the limit with 12 drops.
SNOOP fell just short of victory with 9 drops.
ARNIE and BARNEY therefore each turn over one scoring card.
When Does the Game End?
The first player to turn over their last scoring card wins the game. Arnie & Barney cheer, you collected enough water and are the new Water Champion!
If several players turn over their last scoring card in the same round, they all win. Time for a rematch!
