How do I seize the initiative, and do I still get my card's actions?

Before taking actions, either play an extra action card face down beside your card, or surpass with a 7 (four-player games only). Take the marker and lay it down. You still take the actions from the card you originally played, as a surpass, copy or pivot, but the extra face-down card gives no actions. The seize happens before any Prelude.
