Using These Cards
With this mini-expansion you can vary your games of Anno 1800. Cut out the two cards along the dotted line and use them like any other objective card (see page 12 of the base rules). The rules for these cards are explained on their reverse side. They offer new ways to earn and spend gold. Of course, you can also use the cards without cutting them out. If you want to use only one of the two cards in the game, simply place one of the normal objective cards on top of the other.
Lady Margaret Hunt
A player receives 2 gold for each construction token (production, shipyard and ship) that they return to the gameboard during an expand action. This also applies to construction tokens that were built over and thus returned to the board. However, if construction is carried out over pre-printed productions, no gold is paid.
Dr. Hugo Mercier
Each time you must draw a population card, you may instead spend 1 gold (farmer / worker) or 3 gold (artisan / engineer / investor). Then you do not draw a card.
This cannot be done with New World population cards.
