Exotic Matter Promo Cards
Transcribed from the card photographs of the Exotic Matter promo kit. Card text is given as printed. Stat icons, reward icons and the diamond and star icons are described where the photographs do not make their meaning clear, and are not otherwise interpreted.
Faction Boards
The Exotic Matter promo includes three faction boards. Each has a faction name, a special upgrade that names the ship upgrade tile it comes with, and two faction abilities. Each faction's special upgrade is the faction-specific ship upgrade tile described under Ship Upgrades in the base rules.
Wolfguardian Howlers
Special Upgrade: Fang (Transports)
Full Moon: At the beginning of your turn, if you Return to Station, you may claim 1 moon of your choice from the discard pile.
Howl: Each time you advance on a progress track, except as a result of this ability, you may discard 1 unslotted moon to advance 1 additional space on that track.
Astrodrakus
Special Upgrade: Starwing (Science Vessel)
Dragon Lairs: When you Launch, you may treat your developments as though they were ships for determining range.
For the Hoard: At the end of the game, when determining your Vault Bonus, your ◆ count double.
Drakanaran Flamekeepers
Special Upgrade: Plushyprise (Science Vessel)
Flamecraft: At the end of your turn, if you built a development or gained any modules, gain 1 ◆.
Baked In: During setup, draw 1 module of each type from each deck. Choose 1 of them to add to your station, then discard the rest.
The ◆ symbol is printed on the boards without a name in the photographs; it is transcribed as the diamond symbol.
Faction Ship Upgrade Cards
These are the special upgrade tiles named on the faction boards above. Each replaces the base specifications of its ship type in the Launch Bay, per Ship Upgrades in the base rules.
Fang (Transports)
Hunt: When you Launch this ship to a planet, gain ★.
The ★ symbol is a red star printed on the card, with no name in the photograph; it is transcribed as the star symbol.
Starwing (Science Vessel)
Draconic Fury: This ship has +1 targeting for each damage marker on it.
Plushyprise (Science Vessel)
Friendly: When you Launch this ship, you may skip the Raiders Strike phase.
The card reads "Raiders Strike phase"; the base rulebook names this step Raider Strike.
Raiders
The Exotic Matter promo includes three raider cards. A raider card shows its Range, Weapons, Targeting bonus, Shields, starting region, Class, special effects and battle reward (see Raiders in the base rules). Only the printed text is transcribed here.
Hornet
Begins on: A player's station, after defeating the Hive in battle.
Hornet Sting: If you have a Hornet in your station, as a free action on your turn, you may move it to any unoccupied region to perform the action in that region.
Note: Non-player Hornets may SWARM.
Reward: Multicolour reward icon (not identified in the photograph).
Ancient Brain
Special raider.
Begins on: The Odessa Field.
Omniscience: This raider strikes whenever the active region is an Alliance Base, regardless of the distance.
Reward: Blue reward icon (not identified in the photograph).
Hive
Begins on: The Monolith of Ancients.
Colony: When you damage the Hive, instead, remove 1 HORNET and move it to your station. When the Hive has no remaining HORNETS, it is destroyed.
Reward: 1 HORNET, and 1 Hornet to nearest unoccupied region.
The Hive's small label beside its weapons icon is not legible in the photograph and is not transcribed.
