Is the Impact tile a Timeline tile or an Era?
The designer confirmed this in several threads, and the rulebook builds the Timeline from seven tiles plus the Impact tile.

No. It is a marker between Eras 4 and 5: no Superproject goes above it, nobody plays on it, and it is skipped when counting Power Plant range or moving Focus. Without Doomsday there are four Eras before Impact and three after; with the Doomsday module the designer said it can be pushed all the way past Era 7.
