Outer Belt Facility Reference Card
This reference card is printed for the Outer Belt side board. Its introductory text is reproduced here as printed.
Beyond the orbit of Maxwell's Moon, there lies the Outer Belt - a ring of asteroids that circles Planet Maxwell like a rocky crown. Mixed in among the worthless stones and ice are many wondrous and valuable finds like abandoned ships, alien artifacts, mineral-rich hunks of rock, and disillusioned space pilots looking for adventure and excitement.
The asteroids are always in motion and when you see something that looks interesting you'll need to be ready to jump on it fast before it gets out of range. You'll need a Navigation Ship to lock on to an asteroid and you might need one or two extra ships to tow it back to Maxwell so you can use it to your best advantage.
Don't worry too much if one or two good asteroids get away from you, though. Remember, the Outer Belt is a ring around the planet so, the asteroid you miss this time around will be back in the fullness of time so that you can try to snag it again.
The reference card's glossary:
Navigation Die: A ship whose allowable value depends on the position of the Outer Belt Asteroid dock where it is placed.
Asteroid Die / Icon: The Asteroid die has four faces showing an Asteroid icon and two blank faces, giving a 66.67% chance of rolling an Asteroid face. When rolled at the beginning of each player's turn, an Asteroid result means that the Asteroid cards advance one position on the Outer Belt side board.
The Asteroid die is sometimes used to determine results on certain cards.
Hold for 1 Full Turn: Indicates an Asteroid card that cannot be used on the turn it is acquired from the Outer Belt side board.
Bypass Hold 1 Turn: The territory bonus for controlling Blish Expanse is that the Hold 1 Turn icon does not apply to you.
Blish Expanse Objective
These cards are objective cards for Blish Expanse. The card has an In-Game Objective and an Endgame Objective.
In-Game Objective: When you claim two Asteroid cards on the same turn, you may reveal this card immediately and score 1VP.
"You're not actually going into an asteroid field?"
Endgame Objective: If at the game's end you control Blish Expanse, reveal this card and score 1VP.
"...one giant leap for mankind"
Notes on Transcription
- The scans are of small community photographs. Resource counts on the Cometary Fragment, Cargo Salvage, Tele-Operator and Peta-Bit Processor cards were read from the scan at moderate resolution and should be checked against a physical card if possible. Card text that could not be read with confidence is marked, not guessed. The Raiders' Rock raid icon is marked as described above.
- Icons that are not spelled out in the printed text are rendered as [icon] or [location icon] because the scans do not name them. Resource icons are read from the base game: gold discs are [fuel] and grey cubes are [ore].
- The Alien Tech cards and Asteroid cards printed on the scans carry no printed card numbers. Their titles are transcribed as printed.
- Card backs, the Alien Frontiers Asteroid and Alien Tech back titles, and the Outer Belt and Factions credit lines are not transcribed.
