20 pawns with stands:
- 10 male agent pawns
- 10 female agent pawns
- 1 spare stand
20 cards:
- 10 male agent cards
- 10 female agent cards
Setup
Players sit facing each other across the table.
-
Each player takes 10 pawns and 10 cards of the chosen type: male agents or female agents. Players arrange their pawns in a row in front of themselves.
Note! The numbers on the pawns are hidden from the opponent!
-
Each player then randomly chooses 3 of the opponent's pawns, without looking at their numbers, and returns them to the box. These pawns will not take part in the game. Each player therefore has 7 pawns in front of them.
-
Players shuffle their cards, and then lay out 7 cards in a row in front of the opponent's pawns, so that the numbers on the cards face their owners. The remaining 3 cards stay in the players' hands.
-
Players place their 7 pawns on the 7 opponent cards. A pawn may be placed on any opponent card, following these rules:
- a pawn's number may not be placed on a card with the same number;
- if the number on the pawn is higher than the number on the card, the pawn is placed on the "+" sign;
- if the number on the pawn is lower than the number on the card, the pawn is placed on the "-" sign.
Playing the Game
The game is started by the player whose ID card or identity card (legitymacja or dowód osobisty) has the higher number. Then both players take actions in turn. A player's turn proceeds as follows:
-
The player chooses one of the three cards held in hand and swaps it with the card lying under one of the opponent's pawns. (The player therefore always has 3 cards in hand.)
-
The opponent places the pawn on the new card according to these rules:
- if the number on the pawn is higher than the number on the card, the pawn is placed on the "+" sign;
- if the number on the pawn is lower than the number on the card, the pawn is placed on the "-" sign;
- if the number on the pawn is the same as the number on the card, the pawn is placed to the side of the table, number facing up. The player has succeeded in unmasking an opponent's agent.
If a player has unmasked an opponent's agent, as a reward that player may play their turn again.
End of the Game
The game ends at the moment one of the players unmasks all of the opponent's agents. That player is the winner of the battle of the intelligence networks.
Game Variant
To lengthen the game, players may play a series of games (for example, 3 games), at the end of which they add up the points they have earned.
