Card Layout

The printed cards show:

  • Name: in the banner under the illustration, or in the title bar for spells, powers and attacks.
  • Type: the banner above the name (Minion, Attack, Power, Compulsion, Spell or Treasure). Nemesis cards carry the nemesis name in the bottom banner.
  • Cost: in the hexagon or circle at the top-right corner (the aether cost). Minion health is shown in the red circle.
  • Set code: bottom-left (EVO-01 to EVO-54).

Dorian, Magic Theorist

Mage (EVO-53).

The mage card shows Dorian, Magic Theorist, with the name and title only. No rules text is printed on the mage card itself. Dorian's card-specific text is on Spatial Distortion (EVO-01), below.

Spatial Distortion

Spell. Cost 0.

While prepped, you may Develop a card in the supply or Develop zone that does not have a Develop cost for half of that card's cost rounded up.

Cast: Deal 1 damage.

Clouded Mesmer

Nemesis. Front side (EVO-54) has no rules text. The back side is shown below.

The front of the nemesis card (EVO-54) shows the Clouded Mesmer name and art only.

The back of the nemesis card shows:

  • Health: 60.
  • Unleash: The player with the target token gains the top card of the compulsion deck. Then, that player passes the target token to the player on their left.
  • Increased Difficulty (Setup): The supply must contain a gem that costs 6 or more, a relic that costs 7 or more, and a spell that costs 8 or more.

Additional Rules:

  • When you gain a compulsion card, place it faceup in front of your player mat. It stays there until it is returned to the compulsion deck.
  • If you would gain a compulsion card and the compulsion deck is empty, Gravehold suffers 3 damage.
  • Cards in the Develop zone are considered part of the supply when resolving compulsion cards.
  • When a player is exhausted, that player returns all compulsions in their play area to the bottom of the compulsion deck and Gravehold suffers 2 damage for each compulsion returned this way instead of Unleash twice.

Setup Card (Number 7)

The Clouded Mesmer setup card (titled "Setup") shows the number 7 in a circle above its title. The card does not label that number further.

Setup:

  • When setting up the supply, you must have three gem supply piles, two relic supply piles, and four spell supply piles.
  • Shuffle the compulsion cards and place them faceup next to the nemesis mat to form the compulsion deck.
  • Give any player the target token.

The flavour text at the bottom of the card is not a rule and is not transcribed.

Nemesis Minions

Each minion card shows its health in the red circle at the top right, and the nemesis name ("Clouded Mesmer") in the bottom banner. The bottom-right circle shows a second number, which the card does not explain and which is not transcribed as a rule.

Defeated: Gain a compulsion.

Persistent: Gravehold suffers 2 damage.

Persistent: Any player gains a compulsion. Gravehold suffers 1 damage.

Whisper Lynx (EVO-46)

Minion. Health 15. Bottom-right number 3.
