How does party size change an encounter?
The publisher explained the scaling with Rigby as an example, and the rulebook says minion counts scale with heroes.

It changes enemy hit points, the number of minions, some boss abilities and the amount of loot. The three hit point values printed for a boss correspond to the number of heroes in the party (3, 4 or 5), not the number of players.
