How does Lady V move and attack when a card says to move in a random direction and then basic attack?

She moves in the randomly drawn direction one step at a time, checking before and after each step whether a hero is in range, and the board edge does not matter. The designer called this the intended reading and said it will be spelled out in the second printing; she can end up spending her whole move without attacking.
