Game Info

  • 2 players
  • 10-15 minutes

Components

  • Revolver Card (x18)
  • Gold (x30)
  • Sheriff's Badge (x4)

Setup

Each player takes the 9 cards of one color. He then discards 2 cards of his choice, face down.

Turn Sequence

The game is played in a series of rounds, each composed of several turns (Duels). At each turn, the players secretly choose one of their cards and place it simultaneously in front of them, next to the other cards that have been already played (starting from the first space near the Gold bag).

It is not allowed to play a card of value immediately above the value of the previous card. This rule is reminded on each card by the symbol.

All the cards played stay in place during the round. Thus each player can keep track of what his opponent has already played, and try to guess what is left in his hand.

If a player makes a mistake by playing a card that is not allowed, he loses the round immediately and a new round begins.

Resolving a Duel

The result of the Duel depends on the following:

  • If the difference between the 2 cards is less or equal to 3, the highest card wins as much Gold as the difference between the cards. The Gold is placed on the winning card.
  • If the difference between the 2 cards is more than 3, the lowest card wins as much Gold as the difference between the cards. The Gold is placed on the winning card.
  • If both cards are equal, there is no winner. 2 Gold are placed between the 2 cards.

Example: the 2 wins against the 1, 6, 7 and 8. The 2 loses against the 3, 4, 5 and the Dynamite. The 2 of the Green Player wins against the 5 of the Red player. The Red Player wins 3 Gold (5-2) that he puts on his card.

End of a Round

The players keep playing as such until one card is left in their hand. This card is discarded. The player with the most Gold takes 1 Sheriff's badge to remind that he won 1 round.

In case of tie in the amount of Gold won at the end of a round, the players play a final Duel with their last card, before discarding it. In case of a new tie, nobody wins this round.

The players take back in their hand the cards that have been played, and a new round begins. Each round is thus played with 1 less Duel than the previous one:

  • Round 1: 7 cards in hand, 6 are played.
  • Round 2: 6 cards in hand, 5 are played.
  • Round 3: 5 cards in hand, 4 are played.

(And so forth for the eventual remaining rounds in case of tie or of a longer game.)

End of the Game

As soon as a player wins 2 rounds, he wins the game.

Variants

For an easier game, put the discarded cards face up.

For a longer game, play in 3 winning rounds.
