Winter Cards

This set has six distinct cards. The scans show the same six cards under slightly different translations; the wording below follows the full-size "Bonus Winter Cards - English" scan (BGG image 452827). Flavour text is omitted. Each card is removed from the game after it is resolved, as printed.

Fireplace

Each player who immediately gives up 2 wooden beams earns 3 victory points. Afterwards, remove this card from the game.

Robber Baron

Each player immediately has to pay 3 taler or give up his messenger. Afterwards, remove this card from the game.

Road Works

If you immediately give up 1 stone block, 1 clay slab, and 1 sand pile, you may choose to gain immediately 4 victory points or 5 taler. Afterwards, remove this card from the game.

Beggar

In turns, each player gives up 1 taler. The first player not willing or able to pay immediately loses 5 victory points. Afterwards, remove this card from the game.

Famine

Each helper in the castle immediately costs his builder 3 taler or 2 victory points. Afterwards, remove this card from the game.

Extra Duty

For each trader used, his owner must immediately pay 1 taler, or he loses 2 victory points for each. Afterwards, remove this card from the game.

Note: this card is titled "Special Toll" on the other scans (BGG images 452673 and related), with the same illustration and flavour text. Those scans word it as: "For each trader placed, its owner must immediately pay 1 Taler to the bank or lose 2 victory points. Remove this card from the game." It is the same card and is transcribed once, above.

Wording Variants on Other Scans

The other scans print the same six cards in slightly different English. The differences are in wording only, not in the numbers, and are recorded here for reference:

  • Fireplace (BGG 452670): "Anyone who immediately gives up 2 wooden beams receives 3 victory points. Remove this card from the game."
  • Robber Baron (BGG 452672, titled "Robber Barons"): "Each player must now give up 3 Talers or his Messenger. Remove this card from the game."
  • Road Works (BGG 452671, titled "Road Paving"): "Anyone who immediately gives up a combination of 1 stone block, 1 clay slab + 1 sand pile chooses: he receives 4 victory points or 5 Talers. Remove this card from the game."
  • Beggar (BGG 452668): "Starting with the start player, each player in turn gives up 1 Taler until someone can't or chooses not to pay. That player immediately loses 5 victory points. Remove this card from the game."
  • Famine (BGG 452669): "Each helper in the castle immediately costs its owner 3 Talers or 2 victory points. Remove this card from the game."
