Components
- 150 quiz cards (yellow side and green side)
- 4 out markers
- 1 answer template (yellow side and green side)
- 1 game piece (bird)
Setup
Before the very first game, punch the 4 out markers and the game piece out of the punch-out sheet. Then draw 10 quiz cards and place them as a stack in front of you. You can play with either the green side or the yellow side. The green side is a little easier than the yellow side. Check the matching marking on the quiz cards. Return the remaining quiz cards to the box. Place the 4 out markers and the answer template in the middle of the table. Then put the game piece on the "Start" space of the score track on the edge of the box.
How to Play
You play together as a team. Draw the top quiz card from the stack and read it aloud.
Each question has 8 possible answers. Of these, only 4 answers are ever correct. Your task is to find the right 4 out of 8. To do this you must confer well with each other.
Have you made your selection? Then take the out markers and cover the four answers that you consider wrong. Now you can see only your selection.
Note: it does not matter whether you use the yellow or the green side of the out markers.
The tension rises, because now you check the answers.
To do this you need the answer template and the marking on the quiz card. First check the colour of the marking and turn the answer template so that the side of the matching colour faces up. The marking also shows a number from 1 to 32. Find the matching number on the edge of the template. Place the template so that the two identical numbers lie exactly next to each other. Position the answer template below the marking, and take care not to move the out markers. Through the holes of the template you now see the answers that you have right. Do you see one or more out markers? Then you have covered a correct answer.
Once you have checked the answers, move your game piece forward 1 space on the score track for each correct answer. Put the out markers and the answer template back in the middle. Draw a new quiz card and answer the next question.
[Illustration caption:] The colour and number of the marking must match the colour and number on the template.
Example: The marking on the quiz card is green, so you must use the green side of the answer template. The marking shows the number 17. Now you must place the answer template so that the 17 on the quiz card and the 17 on the answer template meet. Through the holes of the template you see the correct answers. Our group has three answers right and one covered. It may move its game piece 3 spaces forward on the score track.
End of Game
The game ends as soon as you have played all 10 quiz cards. Look at where your game piece stands on the score track and how well you did.
- 40 points: Fireworks! You are simply brilliant and got everything right. You are the absolute quiz stars.
- 39 to 35 points: Applause, applause! You are already old hands at the quiz biz.
- 34 to 25 points: Congratulations on a modest success! Not bad for a start, but there is definitely more to come.
- 24 to 20 points: Yes, you are on the right track... keep at it.
- 19 to 15 points: You are still rookies. With a little practice you will surely do better next time.
- 14 to 0 points: Oh dear! What happened with you? It can be better.
Solo Variant
The game works as described above with the following change: you play alone and do not need to confer with a team.
