Object of the Game

To be the player with the most money at the end of the game.

Setting Up

  • Every player grabs a SCORE SHEET and writes their name on the top.
  • Separate the A, B and C answer cards, then shuffle the remaining question cards and place in the question card box.
  • Each player has a turn playing the '1' and also representing The Mob (i.e. if there are five players, the first round will have four players representing The Mob and one player will be the '1').
  • The first '1' is given all three A, B and C answer cards, the wipe clean MONEY TREE BOARD, removable ink pen and the answer card sleeve.
  • The rest of the players represent The Mob and each grab a MOB ANSWER SHEET. At the start of every round, The Mob is always made up of 100 virtual Mob members. These are evenly divided between the players representing The Mob (i.e. if four players are representing The Mob, they each start with 25 virtual Mob members and write that amount on the top of their MOB ANSWER SHEET).
  • Place the question card box with cards in the middle of everyone.
  • Play is now ready to begin.

Playing

The '1' draws a question card without letting any player see it, and slides it into the answer sleeve.

When everyone is ready, the '1' carefully slides out the first question and all three answer choices, then reads the question out loud to The Mob. The '1' answers the question by secretly choosing a corresponding answer card, A, B or C, and placing it face down.

Before answering any question, the '1' may choose to use one or more of their three helps: Poll the Mob, Ask the Mob and Trust the Mob. (See "Help from the Mob", which is not in this source.)

The players representing The Mob also answer by filling in their MOB ANSWER SHEET. They do not have to place all their virtual Mob members on the same answer. If they're unsure of what the correct answer is, they can split their virtual Mob members between two or three answers; however, they must use all their virtual Mob members on every turn.

When all Mob players have placed their virtual Mob members, the '1' reveals the answer card. Keeping the question card in the holder, the '1' calls out loud the answer.

If the '1' Has the Wrong Answer

The '1' scores no money and the Mob players evenly split the total earned on the MONEY TREE BOARD so far by the '1', and write it down in the first Mob row on their SCORE SHEET. The next player on the left becomes the '1'.

If the '1' Has the Correct Answer

The '1' wins the corresponding value of the question (i.e. $500) for each virtual Mob member placed in the wrong answer. The '1' records their winnings on the MONEY TREE BOARD.

The '1' then carefully slides out the second question and reads it to the Mob, and play continues in the same manner.

NOTE: The '1' must answer all three $500 questions successfully before they can choose between The Money or The Mob.

The Mob players adjust their MOB ANSWER SHEET to reflect how many virtual Mob members they have left in the game. If a Mob player puts virtual Mob members on an incorrect answer, they lose them. If a player loses all their virtual Mob members, they are out of that round.

Winning the Game

Players take turns acting as the '1'. Once every player has taken their turn as the '1', the game ends and all players add up their Mob winnings and '1' winnings in the "Grand Total" section of their SCORE SHEET to find the overall champion.
