How does the Canal work? Can I leave in any direction?

Moving through the Canal costs 1 Yen paid to the supply, and you may leave through any of its other sides. Nobody can place assistants there, and a President cannot stop on it. The reprint removed the Canal's arrows to avoid this confusion.
