How do I get rid of a bounty?
The rulebook and the designer agree for multiplayer; the designer described the solo exception.
In multiplayer, a bounty goes away when your ship is destroyed or when you buy a new ship. The designer notes that if you buy a ship while standing on an Outlaw planet you are Innocent until you use that planet's entrance again. In the solo game bounty stays through upgrades and clears only when your ship is destroyed. There is no official way to pay it off.
