Do I have to move my adventurer when I take the entice or excavate action?
Several players agree and a developer reply relayed by a player says it is optional, but the rulebook's turn text does say to move the adventurer.

Not in practice. The rulebook's turn text says to move your adventurer to the action you choose, but the adventurer only matters for Explore, where it walks through the cave. For entice and excavate, most players leave it in Base Camp, and nothing in play depends on it.
