It doubles the next chip placed on your Active track, once, in this battle. It does not double itself, and does not carry over. It does not apply to abilities that gain Strength (Piping Hot, Wicked Smile) but does work with ones that change the chip itself. If a Madness chip comes next, the doubling waits.
