What if I run out of egg or food tokens?
The rulebook says there is no limit on eggs or food and tells you to use a temporary substitute.

Use a stand-in. Eggs and food are unlimited, so substitute any small token when the supply runs out. Cached food can be represented by cards if you run out of food tokens.
