When do tokens go to the discard during a turn?

Within the phase that uses them. Tokens on an enemy you defeat go to the discard right away in Pilot Actions, and tokens spent on skills or power tokens are discarded then too. The discard pile is therefore ready before enemy attacks remove tokens from it. Tokens on a defeated enemy are discarded last, after its reward resolves.
