Can I put laser tokens on an enemy that cannot be stunned by lasers?
Several players agree and the rulebook defines assigning and stunning separately.

Yes — dealing damage and stunning are independent. The lasers still count toward its hull and stay on it, but they do not stun it. The enemy still attacks that turn unless something else stuns it.
