When do I get an anomaly's A side and when its B side?
The publisher confirmed B resolves instantly outside Step 4, and the editor clarified when each side applies.

You get Side A when you acquire the token, once per turn for free in Step 2 or as a reward. After that it goes in your bag, and any later draw resolves Side B, even outside Step 4, such as from a reward. B resolves immediately. A token placed straight into your bag by an enemy effect skips A.
