How does the Rejuvenation Pod work, and can it be refilled?

At setup it gets one data per dotted box matching the player count, and each use removes one data plus exactly 2 distress from the user, who needs at least 2 distress. No rule refills it; it is a limited emergency tool. Scarab ability markers can be data or black cubes.
