Baddies don't treat Mechorilla as an opposing unit, so they won't target it, while Mechorilla itself treats all units as opposing. It is more Beast than Mech despite its mech-like skills: it starts in a normal Baddie spot, isn't immune to Fatigue or Poison, and can be Poisoned. Its Trap still only hits a Gearloc, not allies.
