What happens to Influence I gain when my disc is at the end of the track?
The designer said no more Influence is gained once the track is maxed, and the rulebook agrees.

It is lost. The track tops out at 35, and anything gained beyond the end is forfeited, so spend Influence during play when you are close to the cap.
