The Gallerist
Can I move my Influence disc back to gain money I don't spend immediately?
The designer and publisher confirmed the rule, and the rulebook says the same.
No. Moving your disc back to the previous money icon gives 1 money per icon passed, but only while you are paying for something right now (buying a Work, hiring, an offer). You can't cash Influence in for money you then keep, and you can't reduce it by more than the cost. That includes Promote Artist, which costs no money: the player aid line suggesting otherwise is an error.
