Can I spend Influence to raise Fame whenever an Artist's Fame goes up, including from a tile or bonus?
The designer confirmed this several times, including for tiles and cards, and the rulebook describes spending Influence for Fame.

Yes. Any time an action or bonus raises an Artist's Fame, even if the printed increase is 0 or the bonus comes from a Reputation tile, an Artist bonus or a player board space, you can move your Influence disc back to previous Fame icons to add more Fame to that Artist.
