A character is eliminated when the consequence of an action they are involved in says "Your adventure is over". That player discards their Skill and Bonus cards in hand and all their items, returns their State cards and banishes their character-specific Skills, then may continue with a new character. The whole group loses if that consequence hits an action all characters are involved in, or if a Curse is revealed from the Discard Pile while the Action Deck is empty.
