How does Evasive X work with the cards I draw?

Draw the cards you need, then discard X cards from the top of your Action Deck for every full set of three cards you drew. Drawing one or two cards costs nothing extra; six to eight cards triggers the penalty twice. A Serious Poulp staff reply corrected an earlier reading in which the penalty was about the cards you kept.
