If both of my Starting tiles give a Technology, do I get both?
The designer answered this and it matches the rulebook.

No. The Technology icon on a Starting tile grants only the lowest-numbered Technology, and a second such icon adds nothing: you do not get it twice or a different Technology. No gold is spent, and no player scores the 3 VP for a marker placed at the start.
