How does the Starting tile draft variant work?

Lay out 6, 8 or 10 face-up Starting tiles for 2, 3 or 4 players, drawing a linked Discovery tile next to each tile that grants one. Each player drafts one tile in turn order, then a second in reverse order, so the last player takes two in a row. Then continue setup normally. For competitive games with fewer than 4 players, the designer suggests placing neutral workers after the draft using the unused tiles.
