Pay 1 cocoa for each differently coloured unlocked worker already in the general area of that board, ignoring your arriving worker. Your own colour counts if you already have a worker there, and neutral colours count too, so the cost can reach 4. You must pay before the action resolves; if you cannot, you cannot take the Main action.
