Do I have to show my opponent the Tribe card I take into hand with the Tribal Expansion border card?
The game's designer answered this directly on BGG (2017).

No. The designer first said the card is shown, but in late 2017 he changed it so Tribe cards in your hand are hidden information. Your opponent may not ask to see it.
