Yes — skip the Start of the Day on day one and begin at During the Day. Only the Chapter 1 Part 1 Event from the setup card is revealed that day, not a second one. Older community answers and the early unofficial FAQ said day one resolves like any other day; Awaken Realms later replied that only Event 1.1 is used on the first day.
