Do I have to announce which loadout card I use?
The designer advised on this and it matches the rulebook's loadout rules.

You must declare that you are using a card and set it face down, but you reveal it only when its text says so. Only S-Mine and Sound Masking stay hidden (until triggered or the game's end). The designer advises at least saying a card was used, since silent play was not what the game was balanced around.
