Yes. In 2022 the designer said the Stone of Blood and similar cards may be played on their own or alongside combat damage. An earlier 2021 designer reply, that the Stone is a separate attack that cannot be added to a crew attack or count for synergy, was superseded. A poster citing the FAQ adds that using such a card lets you place a synergy token from any crew member onto another.
