Does a track bonus space need the track and locomotive to arrive at the same time?
Many players agree; the rulebook requires both conditions but does not set an order.

No. The bonus triggers once both the required track colour and a locomotive that reaches the space are in place, in either order and on different turns. You may advance track beyond a space you cannot yet use and collect the bonus later when a bigger locomotive arrives.
