Do I have to fully perform a main-board action, and can I do part of a factory, mystery token or engineer action?

Main-board action spaces must be performed in their entirety, so you cannot choose one you cannot fully carry out. The exceptions are things only you can use: factory abilities, mystery token effects and your own recruited engineers, which you can do partly or skip. A factory effect that cannot be used when your marker lands is simply cancelled.
