Does the Golden Spike add to the Transcontinental bonus or replace it?
It replaces it. Each railroad scoring phase, a completed Transcontinental line pays 10 (20 with both lines); with the Golden Spike each pays 25 instead, so 50 with both instead of 20. A locomotive strong enough to reach the end of the line is still required.
