What if a battle card needs more skulls than the buildings can take, or than the supply holds?
The rulebook lists skulls that cannot be placed as a corruption trigger and says taking a skull from an empty supply loses.

If there are not enough buildings to receive the skulls, place what you can, remove the rest from the game and take one corruption, then finish the card. If you must take a skull from the supply and there are none, the heroes lose. Merely emptying the supply is not a loss.
