Gritty is harder in several ways. Setup puts one skull on every building rather than two skulls on two buildings per kingdom, and each month has one fewer free turn (a turn with no events). Later app updates (1.2.4) also added a Raging Foes end-of-month event. The designer left the full list intentionally vague, and players report other changes such as faster foe level-ups.
