Can Mulan swap her played card for a card on the table, or only one from her hand?

Only a card of the same suit from her own hand, and never the Frog. She does this after all cards are played and before the trick is settled. A poster said the Deluxe text omits "in hand", but the publisher confirmed the rulebook wording includes it.
