What if I play Alien Artifacts without the orb game?

Orb-only powers have no use without the orb game, but the other powers on those cards still work. Three 6-cost developments score extra for certain Alien tokens only in Orb games (a bit less otherwise), and Increased Survey Team Movement scores for SETI only in Orb games. Alien Artifacts adds no takeover or prestige functions.
