How does the Villa work? Is the noble in addition to my normal colonists?
Several players agree, citing the German rulebook; the English rulebook wording is ambiguous.

Yes, most players read it as an extra noble. On your first turn in the Mayor phase you take one noble from the supply (never the ship) and then still take your normal colonist or noble from the ship; if no nobles remain you take a colonist from the supply. The English rulebook says "instead of" a supply colonist, which is confusing and was reportedly clarified against the German text, which says additional.
