Power Grid
Do the regions chosen for the playing zone have to be connected?
The rulebook requires a contiguous zone; how contiguity is measured is only settled by forum consensus.

Yes — the rulebook says to pick a contiguous zone of connected areas, and the whole zone is shared by all players. The rule does not say whether "connected" means areas sharing a printed border or areas linked by city connections; most forum replies read it as linked by city connections.
