How do I refill when one pile is empty and the others hold one card each?
The rulebook covers the general split; the one-card edge case is only settled by player agreement.

Normally split the largest pile roughly in half, keeping its top card in place, to refill the empty pile. If the other piles hold only one card each, there is no official ruling; some players let the current player choose, others leave the pile empty.
