What are the basic tile placement rules?

The first tile must touch the planet's perimeter. Every later tile must touch an earlier tile orthogonally, not diagonally. Tiles sit in a single layer, aligned to the grid, with no overlap and nothing outside the grid. Planet-specific rules add to these.
