How does the Flux token work and which tech level is active?

The token sits under one of your tracks, making it the flux track whose terrain your tech bonuses refer to. Only your most recently unlocked tech level is active, and each time you unlock one you may move the token or leave it. You may also switch the flux track when you advance onto the next tech milestone.
